When children enter Kindergarten they will need to be able to sit still and listen to their teacher. It is very important for your child be be able to follow instructions. You can help by using two-part instructions around the house. Make it simple and give the instruction all at once. You can also do easy paper and pencil exercises to reinforce learning this concept. For example, tell your child to ” draw a straight line on the paper and then draw a circle at both ends of the line.” Remember to keep the instructions simple to understand.
To help with this auditory process, here is a Worksheet with a two-part instruction.
